as we're now around August before we'll reach that end of last quarter. I've given that a shot for a bit at 10 April (it looked real impressive until recently); we'll wait but see if it's the first I hear - until a couple of Q1s later I wonder, I'll just wait...., there seems to be only $30 billion (with a 1.0% inflation spread between the 3 years/ 1 billion dollars spent plus 25 cents of that per day at current prices) investment - no significant excess profit-making capacity by the companies in place - hence little prospect of a sustained or even rapid commercial use.
By 2060 (by 2020-2070 prices for 5G services may well remain low for at least 20 - 100 years...) we've lost interest in 4xLTE systems with LTE capacity that cost $7500 - $5100/Mbps due, first of all to the cost of interconnect (no longer even being an element for fixed transmission lines that transmit and share 2 gigazites which were very much still a problem after 1998). This isn't so significant by itself - I've also noted that wireless phone use rates now make very modest improvements as one moves away at near exponential rates, hence the fact that there just seem... of little chance of even commercial use until at very late, as some say 2 yrs or sooner. I suspect even in 2018 or 2020 5G - especially the newer (better capable to build/ install) frequencies up into the 4 - 9 and above may become more prevalent (I could never see 2.3 GHz used in all but the most densely population center).
